India is one of highest consumers of energy in the world. India is suffering from excessive pollution due to the burning of petroleum used in vehicles. Due to this government has incorporated plans to promote electrical vehicles as a mode of transport which are pollution free.

• The National electric mobility mission plan (NEMMP 2020): NEMMP was announced by the Indian government to implement use and production of electric vehicles in India. India plans to mitigate adverse environmental impacts of vehicles. The government aims at seven million electric bikes in India by 2020.

 • No license and registration: Scooter that has top speed up to 25 km per hour need not be registered by the road transport authorities. You also don't need to obtain a license to drive it on the road, which gives electric scooter a real long time runner in the Indian market.

 • Technology advancement: There are many start-ups in India who are focusing on developing technology enable electric scooters. There are planning’s to add plenty of new features and perfect design to tap into the Indian market. Some of the features include smartphone connectivity, different driving modes, navigation and add information on real-time traffic data.
